Attempted Murder
Stephanie was accused of attempting to murder her new husband by poisoning him with arsenic. The State's entire case turned on a hospital lab test which showed the husband's arsenic to be 800 times higher than normal. Stephanie steadfastly maintained her innocence, but to no avail. She was facing more than 30 years in prison. The case was slated to be aired on TrueTv. Then, through our investigation, we discovered that a second test (so-called “confirmatory test”) had been done by a lab in California – and that test showed zero arsenic in the husband's system. The case was dismissed.
